Biografia

He trained in his hometown under the guidance of Luigi Barba and Luigi Lojacono.
In 1870 he exhibited at the Promotrice of Palermo, Ritorno dal pascolo, in 1871 presented La bufera at the Esposizione Regionale of Siracusa, receiving the gold medal, in the same year his landscape Fiume Anapo was purchased by the Municipality of Monreale.
In 1875 after winning a grant in Rome with his  La raccolta degli ulivi he remains in the city of Rome, while from 1876 to 1879 he lived in Florence.
In 1879 he was in Paris, where he worked for art dealer Goupil, influenced by the Impressionists, in 1880 is in Palermo where he decorated the hall of the Villa of Senator Florio, and a painting titled La mattanza, the sketch of which is at the Capodimonte Museum in Naples.
In 1873 he participated at the Promotrice of Naples and at several national and international exhibitions.
In 1882 he settled in Capri where he painted mostly landscapes and seascapes of the island.
