Biografia
Pupil in Naples of Salvatore Fergola, he was influenced by the School of Posillipo, especially as regards the atmosphere of the landscape, while not directly being part of it.
In winter 1851, he accompanied the Duke of Leuchtemburg to Sicily and to Egypt, drawing interesting studies of life.
His brief association with Serafino De Tivoli and Lorenzo Gelati, at the time of the "School of Staggia” becomes a possibility.
Back in Naples, he failed in successfully running a fashion store and moved permanently to Rome.
